Bench & automatic substitutions

Your four substitutes score nothing unless a starter misses out, or you play the Bench Boost chip.
If a starter plays zero minutes, FPL brings on your first eligible substitute in bench order once that gameweek is over. A substitute is eligible only if they played and the new XI is still a valid formation.
The substitute goalkeeper can only replace your starting goalkeeper.
Order your outfield bench by who you want first: a higher-placed player is tried before a lower one.

Captain & vice-captain

Your captain's points are doubled (tripled with the Triple Captain chip).
If your captain plays zero minutes, the vice-captain's points are doubled instead.
If neither plays, no one in your team gets the armband bonus.

Chips

Wildcard
Unlimited free transfers for the gameweek (no points hit). Permanent once played.
Free Hit
Unlimited free transfers for a single gameweek; your squad reverts the next gameweek.

Points scored by your four bench players are added that gameweek.
Triple Captain
Your captain scores 3× points instead of 2× that gameweek.

Two full sets of chips are awarded per season: one set usable through Gameweek 19, and a fresh set from Gameweek 20. Only one chip may be active in a gameweek.

Point values follow FPL's published scoring rules. If anything here differs from the game, the official FPL rules take precedence.
